If You Say So

In the text, we meet Jesus and his disciples as they are coming off one of the most dynamic displays of the miraculous powers of Jesus.

We are introduced to Jesus, not only the miracle worker but the provider. 5,000 men got their bellies filled.

Jesus doesn't just provide but leaves extra in the side. He didn't just make a way but made sure the people behind you can find a way. God does that and MORE.

Some of us are used to being around people who we have to hide our blessings from.

• We are not used to using the power of our testimony.
• You're used to only confessing your sins.
• Start telling folks what's RIGHT with you as-well.

The disciples met Jesus after the most dynamic displays.

• As the followers of Jesus loaded up the leftovers, they headed to the other side.
• Peter says, "Lord if it's really you tell me to come."
• What will not make sense to other people will absolutely make sense to you, because faith doesn't come by what you see, faith comes by hearing the word of God.
• Some of us need to be reminded that Peter said "if it's you."
• We want to wait until the event to give God praise, but we need to give an "if" praise. Don't wait till the fulfillment of the promise but give God a pre-praise.
• Peter isn't saying prove it. He's saying name it.
• Faith doesn't ask for certainty of outcome. It asks for clarity of voice.
• Peter does not allow the storm to stop him from speaking to the Lord.
• Some of us get worried in the storm so we end up in the sunken place (we can see and hear but can't speak back).
• Peace be still!
• Often times we are worried of the effects of what we are seeing. When the environment changes, we get afraid of how it will work out.
• Peter starts sinking and cries out to Jesus.
• Immediately the Lord lifted him and brought him to safety.
• Sometimes the miracle is to allow us to sink to show the world.
• We don't just serve a God who can keep us, but we serve a God who can lift us out of a sunken place.
