Solid Rock Community Church

About Solid Rock

A church family in Kissimmee since 1968

Bring In. Build Up. Send Out.

Our mission

We bring people to Christ. We build people up in Christ. We send people out to be like Christ.

Who we are

Solid Rock is a historically Black church, but our doors, our seats and our Ministries are open to everyone, whatever your background, your language or your story. Come as you are and you'll be welcome here.

Our vision

Solid Rock Community Church is more than just a place of worship, it's a community of individuals united by faith.

We empower our members to grow in their own spiritual journeys and to use their gifts to serve others.

Our history

Built on God's faithfulness

Our church is not just a building, it's a movement of people following Jesus together. From humble beginnings to life-changing growth, every part of our story is built on God's faithfulness.

  1. 1968Fourteen adults, one youth, and four ministers met at the Orange Garden Community Building in Kissimmee, Florida. That meeting led to the formation of First Church of God, later known as Solid Rock Community Church of God, and today simply Solid Rock Community Church.
  2. 1998Rev. Whitfield D. Blenman became pastor and led the church into growth, culminating in the opening of our current sanctuary in 2006.
  3. 2019Bishop Blenman retired, and Rev. Dr. Matthew and Lady Rhesa Quainoo became lead pastors. Under their leadership, the church doubled in attendance and saw major spiritual and financial growth.
  4. 2024Dr. Matt and Lady Rhesa were called to lead in Maryland. Their brother and sister-in-love, Rev. Tim and Lady Jill Quainoo, now lead Solid Rock into its next chapter.
