- Scripture
- Matthew 21:8-10 (NET)
In the text we meet Jesus in transit. As he faces a large crowd we see a juxtaposition.
- On one side we meet Jesus the Messiah on the other we meet a large crowd that on the surface seemed excited about the revival.
- What looks like a perfect union is two parties who could not be further apart.
- Jesus came on a donkey.
- It don't got to be clean to everyone else it just had to work.
- You can't have a revolution wishing for someone else's life.
- Sometimes if you're not careful, what you don't have can make you feel like you're not enough.
- When Jesus steps in Jerusalem he came fulfilling what God has for him.
- It can be hard to stand firm in your identity when you measure it by your accessories.
- If you measure it by what you have, you miss out on what God has given you.
- God has not released you from where you are. God is not in the business of letting you hop. So when he gives you direction he expects you to follow.
- If you're not careful listening to the will of people will take you off the path from God.
- Don't let anyone talk you out of what God has told you to do.
- If you're not careful the symbol can become an idol.
- When you start elevating the things of God then the God of the things.
- Church is not just a place that you go it's a community you are a part of.
- In the text they wanted a military Messiah.
- They forgot they were chosen people and a holy nation.
- You want a revolution... remember the assignment.
- God did not give your platform so you can be elevated by it to declare the living savior.
Attachment Styles 1. Anxious attachment style a. People don't just go back to sinful habits because they are bored.
2. Avoidant attachment style a. So many have gone through traumatic experiences that we are afraid to put the cloak down.
b. That is a survival instinct, but you have to surrender. The word of God tells you that he will command angels surrounding you.
3. Disorganized Attachment style a. Shows that you have a fear that you can be held and not be dropped.
4. Secure Attachment style a. Emotional regulation
