Scripture
Luke 17:32 (NET)

Remember Lot's wife. Whatever you do, don't turn back.

Tetelestai (τετέλεσται): "It is finished" or "Paid in full." Jesus paid for our sins in full. We should have every confidence that Jesus is coming back for us. He tells us to remember Lot's wife (Genesis 19).

Be careful that your head does not grow with your blessings.

Point 1: Get Past the Past.

Lot didn't allow his hesitation to stop him from moving forward. There is mercy for doubt. But keep moving. Do not look back.

There is grace for hesitation, not stagnation.

You may stop in Zoar (where Lot and his daughter escaped to), and it may be not what you want, you still praise him.

Point 2: The Present is the Present.

Be very careful romanticizing the past.

People forfeit the future because they may be caught up in the past.

Sometimes what we call "deliverance" is what we put ourselves in. Seasons are what God puts you in, cycles are what we put ourselves in.

The battle in Sodom is not ours.

Point 3: The Future is Forward.

Lot's wife turns back desiring what God was delivering her from.

We need a revelation to stop yearning for sin.

Focusing on the past makes us salty (Lot's wife turning into a pillar of salt).

We need to come together and not allow our brothers and sisters to look back to Sodom.
