Scripture
Hebrews 4:12 (NET)

Question is whether or not the Bible can be trusted.

  • Now it begs another question why we are challenging this faithful witness.
  • We have a job to do.
  • Believers ought not to think that the totality of our earthly assignment is simply believing in church.

Our job is to make disciples of all nations.

  • Jesus' command is to love each other as he has loved us.
  • We need a relationship with the story of Galilee.
  • You need a relationship with the text so you can complete your assignment.

In this particular passage the Bible tells us that the word of God is alive and active.

  • When we consider that the Bible was comprised of 40 different authors.
  • These are not people who tried to create a religion but experiences of people who encountered the true and living God.
  • You can tell by the product who the is and isn't.
  • We can tell a-lot about the fruit of where the root lies.
  • The value of scripture is that it does not come to us in pretty packaging.
  • The valuable thing about the Bible is that it doesn't have pretty packaging, it doesn't how much customization there are things in the text that will reveal ugly parts in your life so they can get cleaned up.
  • The truth of scripture does not change but the meaning is contextual to the times we are living in.
  • We need to have relationship with the text.
  • Sabbath is not just a day in ten calendars. Sabbath is the understanding that we now have eternal rest.
  • We must be students of the word of God.
  • The word of God is not only alive, but it survives the times.
  • Check your friend list. You need to make sure that the people are speaking into your life are speaking and pointing you back to Christ.
  • You don't read the scripture as a passive audience, but you read so you can participate in what you're reading.
  • Faith comes by hearing.
  • Faith without works is dead.
  • This is how you know whether or not you can trust the Bible.
  • Does it catalyze?
  • Does it awaken?
  • Does it instigate a new set of actions in your life?
  • People don't need more church they need more scripture.
  • We can't copy your breakthrough and expect it to work for me.
  • We can learn what you practice until the presence of God shows up in our lives.
  • The word of God it's so much bigger than just the science, but still use science to affirm his word.
