End of the summer is refocusing on goals. The natural flow is to find a sprint in spring to find a break in the summer and come back to the end of the year with the commitment to finish strong.

If you're not careful you will mistake a strong start as the same thing as a sustained journey.

• Longevity.
• Ability to sustain when trouble comes.

In the text we see a picture of how God's church comes together.

• The church comes together from people who are praying and others in prison.
• Our responsibility of the church is not just to show up, it is to be the church.
• Jesus died so you can be his church.
• You need a foundation that won't crack under pressure or shift when the wind comes. There will be rain and wind but if you can be firmly planted you won't worry when the rain comes.
• When Peter goes to prison, he doesn't go for vacation.
• Often, we pretend the problems church people go through are church problems.
• It is necessary for us to understand the times we are living in.
• Church is not just about showing up but going out to make sure people feel the church.
• As Peter is in prison he loses his freedom.
• Jesus opens the doors of the jail.

While his body was in prison God was guiding his mind.

• What you fill your ears with plays a part in your life.
• You cannot fill your ears with violence and expect to be at peace.
• Make sure it doesn't take you away from your assignment.
• This life is about life and death which is in the power of the tongue.
• When Peter is led out and makes it outside the jail, he realized that while he was in prison God was covering his mind.
• Watching the previews is an indication you're in the right place: it is an indication that God is getting ready to show you something you've never seen before.
• Peter realizes his mind has been protected, and he gets to the church and they begin praising.

Let's not get busy having church that we forget to be the church.
